Mandalas: Early College Sketches

I love drawing mandalas. 

I love the focus on intricate symmetry, in a world of thoughtful detail. The mandalas flow out organically, designing them as I go, according to their individual idiosyncrasies. If one line, curve or dot gets off, it informs the personality of the whole piece; they make themselves, really. I am merely the channel. I don't draw as many as I used to, these are from my freshman year of college, at least I know two of them are. Cleaning my room at my parents home I find them on my walls, having been there for awhile. Time to come down, time to move on. I thought I'd share them here, I think they're pretty cool. I inspire myself here, I'd love to bead something like this..beaded mandalas..hmm...
